Prewett has been at the forefront of high-tech distribution and EDI information systems. Its state-of-the-art distribution center in Fort Payne, Alabama, has 350,000 square feet of distribution and warehousing space. Here, the company maintains a mill stock inventory of over 250 stock keeping units (skus) and has mill stock program that is available in minimum quantities of 15 dozen per sku.

The company utilizes EDI, both third party and direct, extensively and has Quick Response Programs for orders, Advance Ship Notice, UCC128 scanning of shipments, point of sale data, invoicing and invoice payment. This system enables Prewett to analyze data to help understand what its customers' consumers want, to spot emerging trends and to promptly respond.
